Manchester City has announced a new multi-year partnership with Quidd, one of the world’s  digital collectible platforms.

Quidd is providing new experiences enabling people “to swap and collect digital cards, transforming the football culture pastime of collecting stickers and cards for the modern age through the use of technology.”

The partnership will allow people “the opportunity to unlock a number of real-world rewards including official Manchester City merchandise, hospitality tickets and money-can’t-buy experiences, including the opportunity to join a first team training session.”

To mark the collaboration with the club, Quidd will be “releasing a range of special edition digital collectibles which will allow Cityzens the ability to collect and benefit from Manchester City themed digital products.”

The first series will feature over 200 player cards and “will retail starting from £0.79 per pack of three trading cards, ensuring the collection is affordable for fans and collectors on any budget.”

The series will be “available on the Quidd marketplace at 2pm on 2 May 2024, with first 10,000 Cityzens acquiring two free packs plus exclusive access to ‘For The Fans’ packs within 72 hours of release.”

Quidd, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, first partnered “with Manchester City in December 2020 with a limited-edition series.”

The Quidd marketplace has facilitated the issue, sale and exchange “of limited-edition, officially licensed digital collectibles since Quidd’s formation in 2016.”

Tom Boyle, Vice-President, Global Partnerships Marketing and Operations at City Football Group, said:

“We’re pleased to announce our new partnership with Quidd today. We’re excited to help transform the traditional football pastime of cards and collectibles in a new digital age alongside Quidd, enabling us to further connect with our fans across the globe. We look forward to working together on creating new digital experiences and games for our fans to enjoy.”

“We’re delighted to be working with Manchester City, the very best football club on the planet. This partnership signals our intent to [enhance] the world of sport collectibles. We aim to be the best, most successful digital collectibles business in the world – so it makes complete sense for Quidd to work with Manchester City, the most forward-thinking and progressive football club on Earth. Quidd will provide fans a fun and easy way to connect with their favorite football clubs and players.”

Manchester City FC was initially “founded in 1880 as St Mark’s West Gorton and officially became Manchester City FC in 1894.”

Situated on the wider Etihad Campus, the Club’s footprint “includes the 53,500 capacity Etihad Stadium, the 7,000 capacity Joie Stadium and City Football Academy, a state-of-the-art performance, training and youth development facility home to the Club’s men’s, women’s and academy teams.”

Quidd, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, claims to be “the original digital collectibles and NFT marketplace.”

For over seven years, Quidd says it has “facilitated the issuance, sale, and exchange of limited-edition, officially licensed digital collectibles, featuring more than 325 of the world’s most popular brands, including Disney, Game of Thrones, Rick and Morty, the NBA, Manchester City, and many others.”
