The firm behind the global airline, Lufthansa, announced the public launch of an NFT-based loyalty program named “Uptrip” that would reward passengers participating with digital collectibles and unlock added benefits.

Uptrip is a fresh loyalty program with Miles & More and will start its operations on the Polygon PoS network.

This initiative named “Uptrip” allows travelers flying with Lufthansa Group airlines, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, and others, to collect digital trading cards.

Uptrip rewards travelers with special digital cards for every journey they take. Travelers get special benefits on completing a set like access to business lounges, extra travel miles, and upgraded traveler status.

Uptrip, a project from Lufthansa Innovation Group, which runs on Polygon, is a technology that enhances Ethereum for users. It was tried out with over 20,000 users before its official launch. These users gathered more than 200,000 digital trading cards as part of the testing.

The loyalty program called Miles and More by Lufthansa Group has around 38 million members right now. It’s one of the latest to use the Polygon network, following companies like Starbucks and Nike. However, Ethereum and Solana have been the main players in the NFT (digital collectibles) world up until now.
